A Brief Intro:

Hello! My name is Jitao Zhang. I was born and raised in Nanjing, China, and I'm a Gen Z.

In 2025, I completed my BSc in Statistics at UBC. Now, I'm a Master of Management Analytics (MMA) student at Rotman School of Management, UofT.

In my free time, I love traveling, experiencing different cultures, trying fantastic food, and of course, capturing amazing photos and footage. I'm also an amateur drone flyer — if you're interested, I've shared some incredible places I've visited in the Gallery section.

Lastly, I'm a huge fan of Ed Sheeran🎸 and F1 Papaya team🏁 (if you know, you know!).

Career Goals & Catalogs

When I was in my junior year, I was scammed by a highly trained and organized international telecommunication fraud group, resulting in a significant financial loss. They deceived me using pre-recorded footage of a police station, actors posing as police officers, and other carefully crafted but disturbing tactics. To this day, I still have no idea how my personal information was leaked. That experience made me realize that ethics is just as important as any data management and analysis skills — if not more important in certain situations.

At this stage, I want to become a data or business analyst not only because these professions align with the skills I’ve been trained in, but also because I want to use my abilities to create convenience for our customers while building trust and reliability.

The ideal company I aspire to work for is one like Duolingo — a company that uses modern technology to make education more accessible to people from all over the world. I want to contribute to a company that creates positive social impact across borders. That said, I understand there is still a long journey ahead, but I am committed to preparing myself by gaining more experience along the way.
